The warranty is void in commercial use as well as in the event of misuse, negligence, failure to follow Wilfa's instructions and by modification or unauthorised repair of the product.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects or defects that occur during the warranty period. The warranty does not apply to use of incorrect electrical voltage, normal wear and tear, incorrect use, or lack of maintenance, such as:

Product overload

Damage to glass

Release coating

Wear parts including filter, battery and other parts that must be replaced regularly

Scale build up; descaling must be carried out in accordance with the instructions for use

Grinds the beans nicely, so,

"Grinds the beans nicely, so, tick. Negatives: box for collecting coffee feels very flimsy and cheap - I expect it to break at some point, and it isn't possible to use an alternative container. Some other aspects of build quality feel poor as well. It doesn't seem to work well to regrind the coffee, if, for example, it seems to be too coarse or the you've failed to select the right grind level. Many reviews comment on the messiness of the grinding process ie when you remove the box of ground coffee, another little shower of coffee falls down into the space it was in. This seems to be mostly avoidable by giving the machine a tap before attempting to move the container."

Really good, but!

"I normally buy ground coffee, but decided to have a go at grinding beans at home. This is my first electric coffee grinder, after much research and watching many YouTube videos I chose this machine. The things I like: the discounted price meant it was worth a try, the machine looks good, is relatively simple to use and grinds coffee well, from a novices point of view. The things I dislike: (this may be specific to the Monsoon Malabar beans I use, I don't know) weighing out 46 grams of beans to use with my filter coffee machine, the equivalent to the ground weight that I normally used (well below the maximum for the Wilfa hopper), requires the time be set at the maximum 30sec and the grind button pressed once. this results in a few beans being left in the bottom of the hopper, so the grind button is pressed a second time for just 4sec to empty the hopper then a third time to stop the grinding process. tripling the button usage which I am sure will reduce its longevity. Whilst the hopper and burs are easily removed for cleaning, I found that cleaning the area left at the top of the machine with a brush caused a problem (possibly static) of a build up of grinds in areas that when trying to re-assemble would not allow the hopper/ to sit correctly and allow it to rotate for different grind sizes. Using a hand held vacuum cleaner solves this, but is an inconvenience. I am currently trying out my Zerostat 3 that I use for my LP's to see if that helps if it is a static issue. So I would still recommend it, but not unreservedly."

Have used the grinder for

"Have used the grinder for a few weeks now and very pleased with it. It looks great on the worktop, feels generally well made and runs quietly. I’m using with Aeropress and no complaints with the grind. I’ve seen a few grumbles about the grind container online and it does feel a little light but I have no issues pouring the ground coffee out, I just pour from one of the back corners as opposed to the front. No regrets with the purchase."

Having been persuaded by one of the latest James Hoffman product reviews for filter coffee makers on Youtube, I purchased the Wilfa Svart Performance with high hopes. First off, it looks fabulous. The base is rather weighty and the finish on the materials makes it look very stylish.

Wilfa Svart Coffee Grinder

I have used expensive hand grinders and cheap electric grinders before. After extensive research, this seemed to be the best quality for around the £100 mark and its made a huge difference to my coffee after just one day. The grind is consistent, the V60 is now extracting a lot smoother, and I feel I actually have another tool to adjusting the profile of the cup I want. Definitely worth it if you are considering buying!

Wilfa Svart Performance Coffee Maker

I have been looking for a good filter coffee maker for awhile, because you don't always have time to give pour over the focus it deserves, and I finally decided on this beauty. Not only is it a beautiful looking machine but it also makes a mean cup. The drip controls are easy to follow, the water tank is a joy to use (being that it drains from the bottom and is completely removable for cleaning) and you can just tell each separate part of this has been thoroughly considered.
