Wilfa Svart Coffee Grinder (Silver)

The Wilfa Svart grinder is where the three worlds of coffee expertise, Nordic style and intelligent engineering meet.

  • Sleek and approachable, the Wilfa Svart Grinder is one of the most affordable specialty coffee grinders available. And yet its conical burrs give outstanding grind consistency that is widely used in commercial settings as well as homes. Wilfa Svart grinders are compatible with a variety of brew methods: namely, the filter, french press, Aeropress and percolator. Its user-friendly settings allow you switch with ease between grind sizes.

With an easy-to-use interface, you'll find no trouble make a professional-tasting brew either at home or in a professional cafe environment. The generous bean hopper holds 250g and the timer function make for easy grinding - just add your beans and press go! The Wilfa Svart's small footprint and crisp, Nordic styling make it the perfect accessory to display on any counter-top.

The original, silver version of the Svart Grinder is competitively priced at less than £100. Compared to the Wilfa Svart Aroma in black, it has a slightly faster motor meaning, in theory, it grinds slightly hotter which could impact the flavour of your coffee beans. Upgrading to the Aroma grinder will cost a little bit extra - The choice is yours!

      Reliable workhorse

"I've had my svart for 6 years, it's been incredibly reliable and gives a consistent grind. Static issues can be solved with a dab or very light spritz of water on the beans before they go in the hopper. I broke the lid lug off the hopper with my ham-fistedness but it doesn't affect the output."

      Great grinder - easy to

"Great grinder - easy to use and the settings are very flexible. I use it to grind for a French Press and it’s perfect every time."

      The grinder is great, pity

"The grinder is great, pity the delivery company were so poor. Had to chased they up to ensure it was delivered. Should use a more reliable delivery company"

      Coffee Grinder

"Good grinder. The only downside we have found is the collection canister for the ground coffee - the lid folds back and has a space between the lid and canister and the static means coffee sticks to the inside of the lid. There is no way of brushing this back into the canister due to the gap and therefore it goes everywhere! So each time you grind bean you end up spending twice as long clearing up grounds from the work surface! More irritating than a problem but could be avoided by a simple change in the design of the hinged lid of canister being flush rather than having a gap."

Good coffee but machine leaves a mess

"Recently purchased the Wilfa Silver Coffee Grinder. Grinds lovely coffee but does it leave a mess. The ground coffee receptacle is not a good pourer into our French Press, and this receptacle does not gather 100% of the grounds so the machine needs to be cleaned after after every grind. And ground coffee does have a habit of going everywhere!"

      Excellent. Uniform grind size. Home

"Excellent. Uniform grind size. Home use a couple of times a day."

      Fantastic grinder, not too noisy

"Fantastic grinder, not too noisy and love how I can time it so the precise amount I need is ground at push of a button. The settings have met my needs, recommended settings seem right. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone."

      Have used the grinder for

"Have used the grinder for a few weeks now and very pleased with it. It looks great on the worktop, feels generally well made and runs quietly. I’m using with Aeropress and no complaints with the grind. I’ve seen a few grumbles about the grind container online and it does feel a little light but I have no issues pouring the ground coffee out, I just pour from one of the back corners as opposed to the front. No regrets with the purchase."

      Excellent

"This is a replacement for a couple of Cuisinart Burr Mill Coffee Grinders the first of which died during warranty and was replaced by Cuisinart. But the replacement also died after a couple of years so decided to go with the Wilfa as it has a five year warranty. Initial impressions are it is a far superior grinder: Its more compact. Its quieter. It make far far less spillage when the grind container is removed. The grinds are finer and more consistent. As others have said, the grind container is its weakest part. It is also inferred on the best coffee video that there is a 'manual' grind feature but in practice the timer has to have a time set for the unit to work. Very pleased and well worth the extra cost."

      Delighted with it, only had

"Delighted with it, only had it a week so can't comment on it's longevity or robustness, but as a grinder it's been a game changer for us. Highly recommend!"
