There’s something about slowing down in December, putting on a good playlist, and filling your kitchen with the smell of warm, buttery biscuits. This Christmas, we teamed up with Dee’s Basement to create a simple but seriously satisfying festive bake - perfect for gifting, sharing, or polishing off with a cup of something warm.
Dee’s Christmas Jam-Filled Biscuits are playful, nostalgic, and beautifully finished. And the secret behind getting the timing just right? Our Wilfa ProBaker- used here with the built-in timer to keep every batch consistent.
Whether you’re baking with little ones, hosting friends, or just slipping into your own quiet ritual, these biscuits deliver that cosy, homemade magic.

The Recipe: Jam-Filled Christmas Biscuits
Makes 30+ biscuits depending on cutter size (Dee used 3–4 inch cutters).
Ingredients
For the biscuit dough:
To finish:

Method
Combine the dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, caster sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and rub it in with your fingertips until the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add the wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and golden syrup. Pour into the dry mix and bring everything together into a soft dough.
Roll and cut
Lightly flour your surface and roll out the dough. Cut your shapes, then cut a small window into half the biscuits - these will become the top layer.
Bake to perfection
Bake at 170°C (fan) for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden. Dee uses the ProBaker Timer here to keep every batch uniform. Let the biscuits cool completely before decorating.
Assemble
Dust the window-cut biscuits with icing sugar. Pipe a border of buttercream onto the solid halves, spoon a little jam or sauce into the centre, and gently sandwich the two together.
A Simple Bake with Big Festive Energy
These biscuits are the perfect mix of crisp, soft, and jammy - ideal for gifting or stacking high at the centre of your table. The cutter shapes can be as traditional or playful as you like, and you can switch up the fillings with berry jams, caramel, chocolate, or even a spiced apple compote.
Dee’s version is beautifully classic, and the ProBaker Timer makes it easy to replicate batch after batch.
If you bake them, make sure to tag us and @deesbasement - we’d love to see your creations.
